Description

If t is a unit complex number and (z,w) is a complex pair, then scalar multiplication t(z,w)=(tz,tw) sends the unit sphere in complex 2-space to itself, and each point of the sphere traces a great circle (equator) as t runs over the unit circle. Stereographically projecting to real 3-space (with one point at infinity) induces an action for which each point moves in a circle. Each spark in an arc of such a circle.
